Doctoral Student Fellows are also provided with shared office Doctoral dissertation fellowships at 20 Cooper Square for the duration of the fellowships. The aim of the residency is to allow students to finish their dissertations during the fellowship year.
Fellows are expected to be in residence in New York within the University community for the entire year of their residency. The weekly luncheon seminar is mandatory for all doctoral student participants.
Departments may submit not more than three nominations unranked. Candidates must already have made significant progress on their dissertations. Strong priority will be given to students in their final year.
Doctoral Fellows who are fully funded by the Center are expected not to teach during the fellowship year. Program Requirements There are two main requirements expected of students participating in this program.
A department may nominate up to three applicants. Weekly Meetings Fellows are required to attend weekly meetings with the entire cohort of research fellows. These meetings provide an opportunity to discuss projects and emerging humanities trends.
No separate application is necessary to be considered for the Honorary Fellowship. Applicants should therefore check on internal departmental deadlines.

Letters of Support Department administrators are responsible for collecting and uploading two letters of support for the student: Department Chair In the case of multiple applications from the same department, a single letter is acceptable as long as it addresses each candidate.Staff in the Graduate School serve as coordinating officials for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program, the Ford Foundation’s Pre-Doctoral and Dissertation Completion Fellowships, the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship, the U.S.
Department of Education, Fulbright Hays Program, the John Randolph. The Spencer Foundation provides individual fellowships to doctoral students at the dissertation stage and to scholars engaged in postdoctoral work. Both programs support research related to education and are administered by the National Academy of Education (NAEd).

Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships are designed to encourage original and significant study of ethical or religious values in all fields of the humanities and social sciences, and particularly to help Ph.D. candidates in these fields complete their dissertation work in a timely manner.

Gamma Alpha Gamma Dissertation Year Fellowship The Gamma Alpha Gamma Dissertation Year Fellowship provides a supplement to an already-existing research or teaching assistantship in the final year of the student’s doctoral work.
The Dissertation Fellowship (DF) programs offers up to ten $25, grants to support the final year of Ph.D. or Th.D. dissertation writing. The Institute awards up to ten two-year Doctoral Fellowships of $2, per year. In addition, Fellows constitute a peer learning cohort that meets six times over a two year period.
